Finland’s 25 Airports counting on Gentrack’s Airport 20/20 Aeronautical Billing system

23 March 2010: Gentrack, a leading provider of software based solutions and professional services for airports, announced today that its Airport 20/20 Aeronautical Billing System has been successfully commissioned for Finland’s 25 airports. The Finland Civil Aviation Authority’s (Finavia) airports have access to the 20/20 Billing System centrally located in Helsinki over their Wide Area Network.

“The deployment of the 20/20 Billing System further strengthens Gentrack’s partnership with Finavia and our position as a software vendor of choice for international airports worldwide” says Magnus Bojlert, 20/20 Business Development Manager.  “We are very pleased with the outcome of the project.  Finavia now has a comprehensive Billing System to complement its 20/20 Flight Information Display System (FIDS), Airport Operational Database (AODB) and Resource Management Solution (RMS) deployed over the last few years.”

Processing in excess of 17 million passengers and 400,000 flights each year, Finavia uses a comprehensive set of 20/20 systems to efficiently manage the use of its airport’s resources to maximise the services offered airlines and travellers. The 20/20 Billing System now ensures it also has the tools to manage revenue streams generated from aircraft movements and many other activities.

Finavia’s new 20/20 Billing System has been installed on servers in Helsinki and is accessed by each of Finland’s airports via WAN – removing the need for local installation of the software around the country. A project is currently underway to implement a similar centralised software model to supply the 20/20 Billing System to 42 airports across Pakistan from servers based at Pakistan CAA headquarters in Karachi.
