Gentrack and Outpost Central integrate CRM and GPRS water monitoring solution

5 March 2010: Integrated solution will transform the experience for Australian water customers.

Gentrack, a leading supplier of smart billing and CRM solutions to energy and water utilities, today announced a new partnership with Outpost Central, a developer of the new Outpost LiveWaterTM  and Outpost EclipseTM real-time water monitoring technologies. Their partnership brings together two leading innovators in the water software and technology market to engage with utilities to deliver real-time water consumption information to consumers while also educating consumers on water sustainability through use of integrated CRM tools.

“We have invested considerably in designing a specialist CRM solution for water utilities that can be integrated with a multitude of innovative monitoring technologies such as those being produced by Outpost Central”, said James Docking, Gentrack CEO. “Our focus is on providing utilities with the smart CRM tools needed to support new levels of consumer education around water conservation and stepped pricing, while also bringing to the table new monitoring technologies that deliver real value to consumers and utilities.”

Outpost Central is a recognised Deloittes Fast500 winner, recently releasing its Outpost Eclipse GPRS logger system amongst a range of other innovative water monitoring technologies.  Designed as an affordable solution for monitoring and tracking water usage, the Eclipse logger collects and stores data at regular intervals and sends it to the Outpost LiveWaterTM online portal for consumers to access and make decisions on water usage. Data is also sent to the Gentrack Velocity CRM solution for additional analysis by utilities, input to consumer campaigns and to support call centre staff who require a 360 degree view of consumer water usage.

“Water utilities need to transform traditional relationships with customers,” says Docking. “They are looking now at tools to engage with customers earlier, around issues such as potential water leaks and excess consumption.  An integrated CRM, workflow and monitoring solution enables utilities to engage with customers before issues are escalated, to understand behaviour regarding water usage and then implements an effective communications program to promote water conservation. Imagine the value you would get as a customer receiving a text or email message from your water utility advising of a potential water usage anomaly or that your premise was reaching peak consumption levels?”

Gentrack and Outpost Central have established customer bases in Australia including ActewAGL in Australia Capital Territory, and City West Water and North East Water in Victoria. This partnership is expected to provide a strong foundation for continued growth and innovation, the prospect of which says Docking, will benefit all stakeholders.

“We are excited about the potential of an integrated Gentrack Velocity and Outpost solution.  Both companies share a ‘can-do’ attitude and a similar vision for the water industry in New Zealand and Australia. This ensures that for a reasonable level of investment, water utilities can transform customer relationships with proven technologies and applications, to ensure they meet demanding regional water conservation challenges.”

Outpost Central Director Jedd Forbes is also excited about the partnership. “Integrating our low-cost water logging technology with an established and forward-looking CRM provider in Gentrack was a logical step for continued growth and providing cost effective leak-detection & efficiency technology to a much wider customer base in Australia,” he said.

The Gentrack and Outpost Central partnership was launched at Ozwater ’10 – Australia’s premier water event held in Brisbane on 8-10th March.
