New 20/20 Airport Management solutions for Christchurch International Airport
13 August 2010: Gentrack, a leading provider of airport management solutions, announced today that following the upgrade of its latest Airport 20/20 Operational Database (AODB) and Flight Information Display (FIDS) earlier this year, a new Resource Management (RMS) system has now been successfully commissioned at Christchurch International Airport (CIAL).Another key development is the extension of CIAL’s 20/20 solutions to include the latest RMS capabilities for stand and gate planning – a solution that has been well received by airport staff according to Airport 20/20 Business Consultant Hayden Davies. “Staff at Christchurch International Airport will be dealing with a lot of ad-hoc resource configuration and availability changes in the next 18 months while terminal renovations are completed. The 20/20 RMS is a decision support system that will help operators to deal with disruptions quickly and efficiently, ensuring the airport continues to operate smoothly.”
The 20/20 RMS provides increased visibility of how an airport’s resources are used, with the ability to track the location of aircraft as they move around the airport. This enables the airport to maximize the use of gates and stands and improve revenue streams through more accurate billing of the airport’s resources.
CIAL has had a busy year, with record passenger numbers reaching over 6 million in the 12 months to June 2010. The airport also won the New Zealand Airport of the Year Award in 2009. More at www.christchurchairport.co.nz.
