John was appointed Chairman of Gentrack in 2007. He brings a wealth of experience in private equity in the UK, South East Asia and Australia with 3i Group and N.M. Rothschild & Sons. Since 2003 John has been an investing Chairman or Director of nine private equity controlled businesses. This includes a role as an Executive Director of Bayard Capital, which acquired multiple electricity metering businesses world-wide to form Landis+Gyr Group, a leader in smart metering.
Currently John is director or Chairman of four other businesses involved in utility technology and services. John has a Masters degree in Engineering and Management.
John is not classified as an independent director because he has a beneficial interest in 9.7% of Gentrack’s shares.
Non executive Director
Darc is a seasoned enterprise software professional with over 25 years’ experience successfully building and growing Software as a Service (SaaS) and Cloud-based businesses across global markets. He has spent his career working and living in Europe, the USA and Asia/Pacific, growing public and private companies including Infor, SAP, IntraPower (Trusted Cloud) and Integrated Research. He led the SAP (NYSE:SAP) global CRM Line of Business, building it from start-up to total annual revenues of US$1.5 billion in 2007. He was also CEO at Integrated Research (ASX:IRI) where he led the company through a whole of business transformation strategy that delivered 70%+ revenue and profit growth along with a tripling of the company’s market capitalisation. Darc led the development and execution of a product and go to market strategy that won Integrated Research the distinction of Gartner “Cool Vendor” and established the company as the global market leader in Unified Communications Performance Management. Darc is also currently a Non-Executive Director at Objective Corporation (ASX:OCL).

Leigh Warren has 25 years of experience in international business and has held a number of director and executive positions for large multinational software companies including Managing Director for Oracle in South Africa and Australia-New Zealand, Chief Operating Officer for SAP in North Asia, President of ABB Software EMEA and Vice President Asia Pacific for BlueCoat systems.
Leigh is also a director for Hong Kong based Solution Access, an early stage technology investment group and an advisor to boutique investment group Caldera Pacific also based in Hong Kong.
Non Executive Director
Fiona is an experienced Director and Audit Committee Chair. Her active board roles include Director of BNZ Life Insurance Limited and BNZ Insurance Services Limited, and Chair of National Wealth Management Holdings Limited. Fiona is Chair of the audit committees of the above BNZ companies. She is also the Deputy Chair of Public Trust and a Director of Tilt Renewables Limited where she Chairs the Independent Directors Committee and Audit and Risk Committee and a member of the Inland Revenue Department’s Risk and Assurance Committee.
Fiona has executive level operational leadership experience in asset management, funds management and private equity, including holding the roles of Chief Operating Officer of BT Funds Management, Westpac’s investment arm, and GM Wealth Management for AMP NZ. Fiona also managed the Risk and Operations functions of AMP’s Sydney and then London based private equity division.
Fiona holds a degree in Arts/Law from the University of Auckland and is a qualified Solicitor in NewZealand, NSW and England. Prior to a career in management, Fiona practiced as a corporate and commercial lawyer at a senior level in Auckland, Sydney and London, specialising in corporate finance/mergers and acquisitions.
NON EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Nick is a Partner and a member of the Investment Committee at Hg with extensive private equity experience focusing on the technology industry.
He has deep experience across a number of significant organisations in the business services, financial processing and technology sectors.
He is currently a Director at Achilles Subholdings Ltd and has served as a Non Executive Director at a variety of private equity backed companies including British based JLA, Radius Worldwide, Paycorp Group (Pty) Ltd (South Africa), XP Investimentos (Brazil) and AGS Transact Technologies Ltd (India).
Nick completed an MBA with Distinction at INSEAD and a Bachelor of Commerce and Arts (Honours) from the University of Melbourne.
Non Executive Director
Andy is a former lawyer and investment banker and is a chartered member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors. Andy currently serves on the boards of Briscoe Group Limited, Television New Zealand Limited and three NZX listed investment companies – Kingfish Limited, Barramundi Limited and Marlin Global Limited. He is also the Chair of the New Zealand Takeovers Panel. Andy has a Bachelors degree in Law.
Ian Black CEO
Ian joined Gentrack as CEO in 2016 as a 30-year old veteran of the technology industry. Ian has served as COO of SAP Australia, CEO of SAP New Zealand and held sales management positions in both SAP and Oracle in APAC and the UK. Before joining Gentrack, Ian was a director of several number of innovative high growth start-up software and SaaS businesses. Ian has a strong track record in develping and successfully executing growth strategies and is passionate about building customer centric organisations structures and nuturing a culture of innovation and trust.
Tim Bluett has 25 years’ experience in the technology and telecommunications industries and has a successful track record in leading significant growth and change initiatives as well as merger and acquisition activities.
He has held senior finance roles in a range of blue chip organisations across the UK, USA, France, New Zealand, Australia and the Caribbean. He joined Gentrack in April 2018 from The Warehouse Group, where he held the position of Deputy CFO, prior to which he was CFO at Serko Ltd and Telecom NZ Retail.
