Bradley International Airport upgrades to latest 20/20 Flight Display System

8 April 2011: Gentrack, a global provider of airport management solutions, announced today the successful deployment of its latest 20/20 Multi-User Flight Information System (MUFIDS) and Airport Operational Database (AODB) at Bradley International Airport.

Bradley International Airport first installed the 20/20 MUFIDS and AODB in 2003 to support all display devices throughout the airport, including over 100 LED’s and 240 monitors, in a unified flight and baggage information display system. The new 20/20 MUFIDS system has enhanced functionality with fully customizable screens and support for high definition screen content, which will assist the airport in providing an enjoyable in-airport experience and maintaining its status as one of the easiest airports to navigate. Bradley International Airport Operations Manager David White has been looking forward to the new system being deployed:

“The new system is a much anticipated upgrade that we are delighted with. So much so that the Airport is moving forward with new flat panel technology throughout the terminal complex with software and hardware provided by Gentrack.”

The upgrade project included an extension of the 20/20 system at Bradley International Airport with the installation of the 20/20 Staff Information Intranet module, which enables the airport to efficiently distribute relevant flight and operational information throughout the airport community.

“The 20/20 upgrade went very smoothly,” said White. “The technicians did a superb job working with the Airport. They worked tirelessly to make the transition seamless so both passengers and meeters/greeters were never without flight information.”

Airport 20/20 General Manager, Nigel Farley, is also pleased with the success of the project. “The modular design of 20/20 software ensures airports have control over their level of investment, with the flexibility to easily implement additional modules as needed. It’s great to see airports around the world taking advantage of this capability.  This project also included implementing the 20/20 system on a high availability virtualized platform which is increasingly the preferred technology solution for our customers.”

Bradley International Airport is the busiest airport in Connecticut with over 100 departures daily. The airport prides itself on providing exceptional customer service to 5.3 million passengers who pass through the terminal complex each year.
