Gentrack announces award for Excellence in Energy Innovation

22 March 2010: Gentrack, a leading developer of smart billing and CRM software for energy and water utilities, announced it will be sponsoring a new industry award for excellence in energy innovation. 

The award is one of six categories in New Zealand’s inaugural energy industry awards event being hosted by Energy News, and recognises energy utilities for excellence in technological and business innovation.

Gentrack CEO James Docking is delighted to be supporting the awards. “Innovation is not something we celebrate enough in New Zealand so we are pleased to support this new initiative as a means of recognising excellence in our energy sector. I am sure the judges will have a few tough decisions leading up to awards night – especially given the recent projects surrounding smart grid technologies and the successful launch of two new market entrants Pulse Energy and Powershop.”

The inaugural Energy Excellence Awards have been strongly endorsed by the Minister of Energy and Resources Gerry Brownlee, and will be held at the Wellington Town Hall on 8 September.
