8 April 2010: Victoria based water utility North East Water has celebrated one year since successfully completing an overhaul of its IT systems including an upgrade of its Gentrack Velocity billing, CRM and credit management platform.
Eamonn Tobin, Executive Manager of Information Systems at North East Water commented, “It’s hard to believe that it’sbeen 12 months since we went live with Velocity; I guess the old adage that ‘Time flies when you’re having fun’ is very applicable.”
The Gentrack Velocity upgrade was deployed in 2009 following an exhaustive tender process. North East Water has used Gentrack solutions since 1996 implementing its billing platform amid the initial restructure of the Victorian water market.
“I must give credit to our team for the way they have embraced the new system” continued Tobin. “They are now reaping the benefits of a modern billing system that resides on a solid technology platform that enhances our customer service capabilities. It’salso been a pleasure working with the Gentrack team who have been very responsive to our needs and we look forward to working with them into the future.”
The latest release of Gentrack Velocity is designed to provide water companies like North East Water with access to tools for system process configuration and automation – tools that have already led to greater operational efficiency in North East Water’s call centre and greater savings from reduced system maintenance and training.
