Pink Shirt Day: Gentrack raises bullying awareness with book donation to schools

Gentrack is delighted to donate books to Auckland primary schools this Pink Shirt Day in New Zealand to raise awareness of bullying.

The software company has gifted a box of books that cover the subject of bullying to Papatoetoe South and Mangere Central primary schools in South Auckland to encourage children to celebrate diversity and promote positive social relationships while helping them enhance their reading skills.

Ian Black, Gentrack’s Chief Executive, said: “At Gentrack we celebrate our diversity regularly and are passionate about playing our part in creating communities where everyone feels safe, valued and respected.

“We firmly believe it is our duty to help future generations shape a better world. So, in aid of this Pink Shirt Day, we decided to donate a selection of books to schools to raise awareness of bullying. We hope that the teachers find them useful additions to their anti-bullying toolkit and that they serve as reminders to the children to always be supportive of one another.

“Our people in Auckland are donning their very best pink attire today to bring attention to the need to stand tall and stamp out bullying in our schools, workplaces and communities.”
