Newark Liberty Airport Signs for 20/20 Flight Information Display System

New Jersey, USA – Gentrack, a leading developer of airport management solutions, has commenced deployment of its latest generation 20/20 Flight Information Display System (FIDS) at Newark Liberty International Airport, owned and operated by The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Newark Liberty has used a range of Gentrack’s 20/20 airport management solutions including the 20/20 Operational Database, Resource Management, Mobile Operations and Baggage Information systems. These systems provided a solid platform for the extension of the 20/20 suite said John Etheridge, 20/20 Professional Services Manager.

“Over 3 years we’ve developed a strong partnership with the team at Newark Liberty and having proven the capabilities of the 20/20 airport management suite, were pleased to have been selected to rollout our 20/20 FIDS to support the airport’s customer service vision”.

Based on display technologies used in many of the world’s leading airports, 20/20 FIDS provides Newark Liberty with a comprehensive display system that will be used in its International Terminal and AirTrain stations.

“20/20 FIDS is a leader in its ability to capture and communicate key information to passengers in all areas of the airport whether they’re at a gate, check-in desk or arriving at the airport via the AirTrain transport system. Our goal is to ensure that airports have the tools and flexibility to communicate essential information to travellers at every point of their journey”.

Newark Liberty Airport is the oldest airfield in the USA having been established in 1928. Home to the first commercial airline terminal, over 30 million passengers passed through its gates in 2011. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has invested over USD $4 billion to develop the airport, maintaining its position at the forefront of the campaign for next generation technologies.
