North America’s ‘Friendliest Airport’ upgrades 20/20 Flight Display System from Gentrack

30 September, 2010, USA – Gentrack, a global provider of airport management solutions, announced today that the latest version of its 20/20 Flight Information Display System (FIDS) has been successfully commissioned at Fort Wayne International Airport.

Fort Wayne International Airport has used 20/20 solutions since 2006 and made the decision to upgrade to the latest version of 20/20 FIDS as part of its ongoing commitment to improving the travel experience throughout its facilities. The new FIDS system supports high definition screen content with enhanced functionality for screening security messages and extended features for evacuation zone control. Fort Wayne Airport is already leveraging the new technology, running promotional videos for the Fort Wayne, Allen County area on screens across its terminal building, delivering additional value to passengers and visitors to the airport.

Airport 20/20 General Manager Nigel Farley is very pleased with the success of the project. “The implementation of 20/20 FIDS went very smoothly and was completed within a very short timeframe,” said Farley. “The upgrade at Fort Wayne is the latest in a string of successful implementations around the world with key upgrades recently completed at London City and Christchurch International Airports and new implementations at Kansas City and Newark Liberty Airports. 20/20 software is in hot demand as a robust and proven technology platform and we are pleased to see Fort Wayne reaping the benefits of the system’s flexibility so quickly.”

Fort Wayne International Airport is situated at the hub of nine major cities including Chicago, Detroit, Cincinnati and Cleveland and serves over 650,000 passengers annually. Fort Wayne has a reputation for providing excellent customer service, and is recognized as “the nation’s friendliest airport” according to USA Today.
