Gentrack Group (NZX/ASX: GTK) has been selected to implement its leading Airport 20/20 Flight Information Display System (FIDS) at Queenstown Airport, one of Australasia’s fastest growing airports with over 1.35 million passengers passing through its terminals last year.
The project at Queenstown Airport includes implementation of the latest Airport 20/20 FIDS solution to support the airport’s growth and to help enhance the passenger experience.
Nigel Farley, Airport 20/20 General Manager, is pleased with the win that extends Gentrack’s market share to now include New Zealand’s four largest airports.
“We’re excited to win the contract and get started on the project. Queenstown Airport is ranked as New Zealand’s fourth busiest airport behind Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, all of which also use 20/20 solutions. The project includes installation of our out-of-the-box flight display capabilities with scope for delivering additional 20/20 solutions to support the growth of Queenstown Airport in the future.”
Queenstown Airport joins an extensive list of blue chip airports around the world using Gentrack’s 20/20 airport information software, with major projects recently completed at Brisbane, Cairns, Sydney, Bristol, Sri Lanka CAA, Birmingham and Hong Kong international airports.
“FIDS plays an important role in the overall airport experience, keeping passengers and ‘meeters and greeters’ updated on flight arrivals and departures as well delivering instructions and guidance and on check-in and baggage retrieval. In addition to flight information, the same screen technologies that are driven by the 20/20 software provide the flexibility for airports like Queenstown to deliver other value added information to passengers such as local tourist attraction information.”
The 20/20 Flight Information Display solution from Gentrack is a core component of a larger suite of airport information management software used in over 100 airports globally. 20/20 solutions also include Aeronautical Billing, Resource Management, Collaborative Decision Making, Interactive Dashboards and an Airport Operational Database.
